If I could leave a negative star here I would! I wish I had read through these reviews before I hastily hired my boyfriend such an incompetent lawyer. The point of a defense lawyer is to fight for the client, and Jennifer did not. At all. I echo every bad review already written here! It seems more important to be friendly with the state and court than fighting for the person who hired her! I paid you in full Jennifer, which was $1950 more than you were worth and deserved!

I should have read these reviews before asking this so call lawyer to help us... Jennifer p. And staff have very very poor communication with clients the no hustle to get any done. It's all a hustle to get your money... Paid her 1,100 to keep our case a still haven't seen our son not once since then .. and dropping him... if everyone fail the proper paper work threw Florida Bar she won't get away with it.. its been a year down for my son and she has done nothing but continue his case...crazy she just poor at her job!!!! TRUST ME REPORT HER

Glorified public defender (no, she really is a public defender). If you truly care about your loved ones, please find an attorney that is more competent than Mrs. Powell. I'm not sure how she graduated law school with her limited mental capacity. After having my brothers case for over a month, I scheduled a meeting with her and she couldn't tell me anything about his case. She couldn't tell me what his charges were, how much time he was looking at, therefore she had no strategy to present to me. To say that I was appalled would be an understatement. Before leaving her meeting, she did, however, tell me she wanted to assign me some homework. She instructed me to go home and research whether or not his charges could be run concurrent. I paused for a minute, anticipating a slight chuckle because surely she had just told a joke. When the chuckle didn't come, there were two things I was sure of; she wasn't joking, and that statement was a clear indication that she didn't possess the competence to represent my brother. Needless to say, she dropped us as a client because she decided to represent someone else which happened to be a conflict of interest. So PLEASE learn from my mistake and KEEP SEARCHING.

Please do NOT waste your money with this chick. She is totally unprofessional, does not fight for her clients who have paid her in full! She only sends emails to the state attorney hoping to get a response while her clients sits in jail waiting. Shes Scared to fight the state attourney against horrible plea deals. Your family member would do better with a public defender!

I guess you get what you pay for. This lady is garbage and didnt even try to work the case we paid her for. She agreed with everything the state attorney said, never gave us options or what she would do to rebut the one and only "deal" given by the state in 5 months. Her answer was oh well, the state said this, the arresting officer said that. How does she call herself a defense attorney when she does nothing to defend?

Do not waste your time on Jennifer Powell she is a horrible criminal defense attorney very unprofessional and will take your money and not step up in your defense
Then she will withdraw from your case and leave you broke
You will be better off with a public defender
She is a recovering alcoholic and she won’t remember anything about you…
I paid $4000
And she withdrew from my case…
Going to report her to the bar…
