Sweden Town Skatepark - Brockport, New York

This is a great, concrete skatepark for this small town. It's a huge upgrade from the old pre-fab skatepark.

The skatepark offers an excellent variety of features. There are flat rails, down rails, round rails, square rails, boxes, hubbas, A-frames, stairs, a euro gap, a manual pad, a slappy curb, and a bowl. The entire far end of the park is transition, including an alcove that works like a miniramp.

The bowl is small, but it's nice that it's there. There's a short, round deep end with pool coping, and a longer, narrower shallow end with a roll in.

The only flat box is a two-level small/tall box. I hate it. I think a single-level box would have been more flexible. Furthermore, every other ledge is a hollow table-style ledge. These weird me out. I like solid ledges/boxes.

I don't like how the slappy curb is about 3 feet from the bowl. I worry about slipping out and falling in the bowl.

The euro gap is opposite a bump to gap over a boulder. The boulder is neat and matches the other boulders next to the park. However it means if you want to go up the euro gap, you have to approach it from an angle.

As far as location, the park is nice. There's adjacent parking, and bathrooms are a short walk away. However, there's a nearby playground, splashpad, and playing fields. So, you'll probably have to deal with children treating the skatepark like a playground.

I went on a weekday afternoon, and the skatepark was empty. That's a huge plus.

Fun, fun, fun with adequate parking and a feeling of security. So many activities for the kids and the water feature was enjoyable. Everything is modern ,clean and well taken care of. I Do highly recommend

Great Skatepark, Lawsuit Waiting to Happen....

Firstly, I'd like to say that I really really love and enjoy this skatepark. This would be a really great skate area, especially given that skating isn't allowed or appreciated in a lot of places anymore. I have been here for not even 2 hours and several children (groups of 4-7 kids) run around and play on it like it's a playground (the actual playground is maybe 100ft away). I'm not talking about kids who actually skate or scooter around the park, I mean children using the ramps as slides, jumping over the stairs and rocks, and jumping down into the pool that is maybe 6 feet deep. They're scattering around and running in front of my board as I try to use the park for its intended purpose. These children are as young as about 4, and could really injure themselves if they fall into the bowl, face plant, etc. While I was actively using the park a mother even walked her two young children over so they could use the pool as a slide. Most children are unsupervised, coming over from little league practices, running around the concrete IN CLEATS. Which will ruin the concrete and make my wheels more prone to catching any holes and throw me off. Like I said, there are very few areas I know of where I can skate. This park needs to be fenced in, parents need to watch their toddlers, and the park needs to be used for its intended purpose. Again, it's not that I don't want to share/don't like kids, these kids are causing a hazard for themselves and for others. I would very much appreciate it if they would at least use it for what it's intended for.

Lovely! Clean new facility. Plenty of handicapped access for the playground and surrounding area. Nice picnic tables under a roof so parents can watch children at both playground and spray park. The water was ice cold for this Grandma...but kids played hard for over and hour. Great experience and we will go back!

One of the nicest parks in Rochester area in terms of amenities, bathrooms, pond, bridges. Well maintained. Hats off to the maintenance crew.

Fenced in skate park that's got a good variety & amount of apparatus for skating on & is used quite often by many. Porta john in parking lot. Not ♿ accessible.
